Someone once asked Ashly if I was a redneck. Her response was that I was "just metro enough." While I grew up with redneck tendencies, which I am quite proud of, many wouldn’t consider me a redneck if you haven’t known me for many years. (Just see my high school yearbook picture and you decide…picture me with a Garth Brooks shirt.) Perhaps what Ashly was referring to in her comment was that while I elk hunt, enjoy fly-fishing and help with a rodeo, I can also discuss different types of dress shoes, types of shirt collars, and other fashion related topics. Below are two examples of being just metro enough.
People who know me understand that I enjoy dressing well. I recently found this blog, A Suitable Wardrobe, which I think is great. It is done by a gentleman named Will, we are on a first name basis. It is a world in which I can’t live or visit. I find it fascinating to read this blog, especially learning about the world of bespoke (custom-made) clothing and shoes. Imagine spending over $1,000 on one pair of bespoke dress shoes. Allen-Edmonds would be second class here. People who have seen Casino Royale may remember the line…”There are dinner jackets and then there are dinner jackets. This is latter.” Mr. Will would understand this difference. He discusses the travesty of wearing plain cap-toe dress shoes with a tuxedo instead of patent leather shoes or the need to always wear a jacket; he enjoys the odd jacket for casual occasions. (You need a place for sunglasses, eye glasses, along with cigars and supplies.) While I could never bring myself to spend this type of money on clothes (unless my finances change SIGNIFICANTLY) it is still fun to read and see things to incorporate on a less expensive level…hello pocket square. Hope you get a kick out of it. Enjoy!

I also found another website. Made to Measure, through a comment on Will’s site. It is inline with A Suitable Wardrobe, except this guy shops at discount stores, vintage stores, second hand stores and eBay. He is a bit more on my level.

I hope this will provide a laugh to many, I know it has to me, and ideas to some.
