potty training

I'll be honest - I'm desperate to get Clark potty trained! I can't handle his nasty diapers anymore. The problem is that he just turned two and everybody says you aren't supposed to expect boys to use the potty till around 3. That means I'm almost a year early! Oh well - it's worth a try. I'm being very patient and good about not pushing him -so far. He likes his potty and sits on it all the time but he always wants to do it with all his clothes on. Sometime he even sits on in (still fully clothed) to do his business. More than you wanted to know - sorry. Anyhow - does anyone have any potty training advice? What are the tricks to get him to catch on to the joys of the potty?

Hi Ash! Your kids are so cute! I love reading your blog and keeping in touch this way...I'm glad you are the one potty training first...that way you can send me all the good advise! I'm not daring enough to try it yet with Trey. Let me know how it goes!

That is such a funny picture of Clark. He looks like such a little grown-up (other than the fact that he isn't potty trained! ;)

lots of treats!! I took Sam big boy pants shopping and let him pick out his underwear. He started out wearing them over his diaper then he just transitioned into wearing them all the time. Oh, and I did I mention LOTS of treats!?

Make it a party each time he goes. Stay home for the first week and focus on the pottying. Give him lots to drink so he can recognize the urge to go. Thats about all I got! I am doing the same thing With Ben. I would say it's a bit early but he seems anxious and he always goes if I put him on. I don't know. He's my last baby but I am also sick of those poopie diapers. How great would it be to not have to change diapers anymore?! For you it would be great to stop buying 2 different sizes. I wonder how many diapers you actually change during the day! Or wash your hands for that matter!!!
